July 1937. Milton mounts a horse in Ashland, Oregon wearing a three-piece suit. He frequently dreamed of a country estate and eventually purchased a tract of land along the Columbia River. Later in life, he indicated his wish that the land be used for a university. After his death, the property was donated to Stanford University but never used for educational purposes.
