Ellis Island often was part of a chain of continuous immigration during the early 20th century. Milton and Mary Tarlow (Tarlo on steerage passenger form) arrived at Ellis Island on January 25, 1911 from Southampton, England and met up with Mary's brother David Prensky (surname Prenskof on immigration records) who then lived at 409 14th Street in Brooklyn. After a brief stay, the Tarlows left for Portland, Oregon. David had arrived earlier on Mar 11, 1907 from Hamburg aboard the Pretoria. He met up with his uncle Berl Prensky (probably arrived, also from Hamburg, on Apr 08, 1907). There is evidence that other Prensky family members immigrated previously, probably in 1895.
