Seated at the piano, Ilse Richheimer gave concerts throughout Germany. She married Maurice Malicet in France and hid during the war, but was arrested near Toulouse by the Nazis. Her only son Max, who had not accompanied her on that fateful day, was saved and brought up by a French family.
