H. Abraham Browne

Born February 3, 1862 as Ahvrum Hairsh Buchwach in Dombrowitz, Russia (Dubrovica), the family surname was changed several times, and eventually settled on Browne (although sometimes spelled without the English e). Around 1900, he was offically known as Harry Abraham Burstein. Tall for his generation at 6'1", he was a respected scholar who knew many languages. His wife, Sticia Fish, could not read or write. He died in Portland, Oregon in 1935. Inscription reads: To our dear children in memory of our 50th wedding anniversary Nov 4th 1940 - Father Brown.
